TI-Club ERRORFREE - About us

The TI-Club ERRORFREE was founded in 1984 by several users in the area of Stuttgart(that's in the south of Germany) after the cessation of production of home computers by Texas Instruments and the withdrawal of other professional firms established to have the possibility to support the TI99/4a further and to supply the users with hard- and software. On August, 27th 1987 the loose community of users changed to a unincorporated association with a clubboard and statutes. Meanwhile we have about 40 Members in whole Germany and the neighboring countries. Here are the hardware and software specialists with highly developed systems as well as users with a minimum configuration of console, memory expansion and disk drive. We have good contacts to other clubs and groups in the world. At irregular intervals we have user meetings with other clubs. We are at the International TI User Meeting, too. We already organized this big meeting three times.

For each club member there is an extensive program and data collection, our program pool , available. If needed a meber can retrieved diskettes every time. The complete pool can be ordered as ZIP medium or CD-ROM. Our program pool, where ONLY members have access, has now risen to more than 16000 programs and files, that are more than 120Megabyte.

Hardware is either developed by us (eg. PC keyboard interface or mouse adapter) or concerned in collaboration with other users or clubs(eg. the complete snug hardware). For this and anything else is, that we want to help our members without earning money so that either no or only less cost incurred.

The board of the TI-club ERRORFREE consists the chairman, the vice chairman and the cashier. For reasons of the great distances we created in 1992 the possibility the offices of the cashier and then vice chairman in personal union. This possibility is, however, not applied at the time. All activities in the club are volunteers. Thus, our membership fee is only a reimbursement for telephone charges, postage costs, and for the info and the alignment of meetings.

Each member receives a Club Magazine , the Info . This magazine is a disk-a-zine. In the past, it appeared normally on a regular basis several times a year. At the moment it is replaced by an information letter, which appears when necessary. It is free for members. Contributions to come from members or other clubs. They are of different levels, so that even members who do not have a large facility or programming skills, can find something in the info.

More information we give on request .
